Bars Over Bottles
Bars Over Bottles encourages people to switch from plastic bottles to bars for bath & beauty products to reduce single-use plastics. Join us to convince the largest hair care and body wash manufacturers to create bar forms of their product or offer refillable packaging.

The Problem
Over $90 billion is spent annually on haircare products and more than 120 billion plastic packages are produced globally by the cosmetics industry each year.
The number of shampoo bottles thrown out in the U.S. annually could fill 1,164 football fields.
In addition, bottled shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer can be up to 95% water. We are unnecessarily shipping water around the world in plastic containers!
Our Solution

There are many new beauty products in bar form that are plastic-free, cost less, and better for you. These are readily available everywhere now.
We launched our Bars Over Bottles campaign to encourage major retailers to switch from plastic bottles to bars whenever possible. We also encourage our supports to use bars for personal Care.
